DENVER-Able Planet Inc., HighSpeed Communications Inc. and Mitel Networks have teamed to install Able Planet’s micro-technology, which allows people with hearing losses to access wireless and wired telephone technology, into Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phones.
More than 50 SIP phones and 350 IP phones are set to be supplied to the Pine Street Inn homeless shelters, located throughout Boston, early next year. The phones have already been implemented and used at New Hampshire’s Highlander Inn to meet the needs for a conference for people with hearing losses.
