LONDON- Hutchison 3G in the United Kingdom announced it will offer live streaming video to mobile phones through its “Today on 3” mobile news and entertainment channel.
The carrier said the video service will be updated throughout the day and will showcase the latest footage available, from breaking news and football goals just after they are scored to music videos and film clips.
The carrier launched its W-CDMA services a year ago and offers video calling, video downloads, streaming and video messaging. Video has grown into one of the major showcase applications of third-generation networks. In the United States, Sprint PCS offers a video service that allows users to record several seconds of video using their mobile phone and then send the clips to friends and family.
