COSTA MESA, Calif.-The CDMA Development Group has announced the CDMA2000 IxEV-DV release D has received the approval of the 3GPP technical specification group.
EV-DV, which is the highest migration point for the CDMA protocol, provides voice and data. DO provides data only. Sprint PCS has said it will not deploy DO, but will migrate directly to DV.
“Today’s announcement is a yet another milestone for CDMA2000 and we are extremely pleased with the progress that the industry has achieved,” said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG.
