VANCOUVER, Canada-Setanta Media has teamed with AT&T Wireless Services Inc. to offer mobile applications featuring European sports to the U.S. market via AT&T Wireless’ mMode service.
The initial launch of Mobile EuroSport will feature U.K. and European soccer, international golf, F1 racing and international rugby. Users will be able to access breaking news, scores, statistics, team and player profiles, behind-the-scenes gossip, schedules and feature stories via mobile phone.
“Sport is a predominant factor in many people’s lives, and one that often is hard to stay in touch with in a personalized manner, particularly for fans of those sports which may primarily be played at a geographic distance,” explained Frank Cronin, Setanta’s chief executive officer. “Working with AT&T Wireless allow us to provide American fans of European sport with in-depth, fun content that has been optimized for mobile users, the way they want their sports entertainment and news, when and where they want it.”
