MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies has launched its High-Speed Data for the Mass Market (HSDmm) solution it said is designed to help mobile operators offer personalized, lifestyle enhancing multimedia services.
The solution includes infrastructure, applications, OSS software, professional services and marketing programs. It will allow operators to blend traditional voice services with 3G capabilities like multimedia messaging, streaming video and voice over IP.
The HSDmm solution is based on Lucent’s newly-released Accelerate IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) service delivery solution designed to assist 3G mobile operators in introducing voice over IP and multimedia services. “Lucent’s Accelerate IMS solution will enable operators to deliver services that blend voice and data capabilities, simplifying the creation of converged ‘lifestyle’ service bundles-targeted to the most attractive market segments-that offer increased services ‘stickiness’ and usage,” explained John Marinho, vice president of offer management at Lucent’s Mobility Solutions Group.
Separately, Uzbekistan’s Uzbek Telecom has selected Lucent to deploy an advanced wireless network to provide voice and high-speed data in the western part of the Uzbek Republic. Lucent will supply equipment and services to deploy and maintain a wireless local loop network based on Lucent’s CDMA2000 1X solution.
