MIRAMOR, Fla.-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it has signed three contracts worth several million dollars with major Latin American carriers, including Andinatel, Hondutel and MoviStar.
MoviStar, however, is the only purely wireless contract. The Puerto Rican wireless operator picked Lucent to provide operations and maintenance support for its CDMA networks. The specific dollar figure was not disclosed.
“This agreement will allow MoviStar to reduce its operating expenses and sharpen its focus on managing our core business of customer service and strategic growth, while maintaining a high quality of service to its subscribers,” said Claudio Hidalgo, general manager of MoviStar.
