MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.-North American operators can enjoy a GSM and CDMA solution based on Telemetrix Inc.’s hosted switching and intelligent network elements and InterWave Communication’s base station controller and voice and data software, according to both companies.
The companies said they are targeting mobile operators in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico that are struggling with the economics of deploying small or roaming-only networks. The firms said such operators will take advantage of “a shared mobile switching center, data capabilities, billing services, short message services, multimedia message service, roaming management and various other back-office services.”
