Verizon Communications Inc. said it will start offering new digital subscriber line customers a full rebate on the $100 price of new wireless routers, allowing users to hook up multiple devices to the company’s broadband service.
“The majority of households today have more than one computer, and family members want to share the benefits of their broadband connection,” said John Wimsatt, vice president of broadband marketing for Verizon Online. “With our new router promotion and ongoing commitment to helping customers get the most from their DSL, we’re making it easy and affordable for customers to benefit from a home network.”
Verizon noted the free wireless router offer is available through July 17.
Verizon also announced it has completed its national broadband network deployment and plans to offer data and voice services to large business, government and education customers beginning later this month. The company said the IP backbone network totals approximately 9.7 million fiber miles in major metropolitan areas around the country and includes nine regional rings connecting its local networks.
