SAN ANTONIO-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. said it plans to spend $100 million this year to expand and upgrade its network in South Texas, including the addition of more than 80 new cell sites designed to strengthen coverage across 87,000 square miles. The carrier said the investment builds upon the $200 million it spent in the area last year implementing GSM/GRPS services and improving network coverage.
Cingular announced earlier this week that it planned to spend $98 million this year to expand network coverage for its customers in North Texas.
