SHANGHAI, China-Chinese software vendor Discovery Telecommunications Ltd. announced it acquired two wireless data subsidiaries of Intrinsic Technology Holdings Ltd., a Chinese company that works to develop Chinese wireless content and applications. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, DT said it will acquire Shanghai Intrinsic Technology Ltd. and Shanghai I-Sense Communications Ltd., which are subsidiaries of ITHL. DT said it will expand the companies’ mobile carrier software operations in China under the name DT Intrinsic. The companies sell short message service billing and content management platforms.
The move is notable as the wireless content market in China has been the scene of several major acquisitions and partnerships-evidence that the country’s market for wireless data services continues to grow.
