Nokia scores main supplier agreement in India

HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. said it will supply GSM equipment to nine of Hutchison India’s 13 license areas. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Nokia is supplying GSM equipment that is upgradeable to EDGE technology.

“By consolidating our supplier agreements, we are determined to cost effectively improve coverage and capacity in our present networks and smoothly roll out service in the new ones,” said Asim Ghosh, managing director for Hutchison India.
