SAN JOSE, Calif.-In a stock-for-stock merger, Multek Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire Sheldahl.
Multek, a Flextronics subsidiary, makes rigid circuit boards while Sheldahl makes high-performance tapes and flexible printed circuit materials for the worldwide automotive and data communication markets.
The deal will close this month, according to the companies.
The deal will allow the combined company to provide a complete interconnect offering to develop new products and to serve new and existing markets, such as automotive, cell phones, antennas, RFID tags, smart cards, personal communication devices, printers and many others, according to Werner Widmann, president of Multek.
