TORONTO-Canadian wireless operator Rogers Wireless Communications Inc. selected Azaire Networks as its core system provider for the carrier’s Wi-Fi service locations throughout Canada. Azaire will provide Rogers Wireless with secure authentication and authorization of Wi-Fi services and the ability for customers to pay for access to the service by using a credit card or on their Rogers Wireless accounts.
Azaire said its platform required minimal modifications to meet the secure authentication and wholesale settlement requirements adopted earlier this year by the four main Canadian wireless operators-Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility, Telus Mobility and Microcell Solutions-as part of a nationwide inter-carrier Wi-Fi roaming and interoperability agreement for public hot-spot locations.
