MUNICH, Germany-T-Mobile Czech Republic has commissioned Siemens AG to equip its network with EDGE technology. By the end of 2004, the high-speed infrastructure will be available to the operator’s customers in several major cities and coverage will be extended gradually.
Siemens said the win is its fourth EDGE contract in Eastern Europe and its thirteenth in the world. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
“We are proud of the fact that we will be able to offer EDGE to our subscribers,” explained Roland Mahler, managing director of T-Mobile Czech Republic. “This will enable us to provide our customers with a new dimension in using data and multimedia services.”
