Bitfone introduces new OTA product portfolio

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif.-Bitfone Corp. said it has introduced a new product portfolio to identify and solve mobile device software problems over the air.

The products, known as SmartCare, mProve 4.0 and Mobile Variance Platform, will allow both carriers and handset vendors to reduce the risks of deploying third-generation devices, reduce software maintenance costs and improve customer satisfaction, according to Bitfone.

SmartCare diagnoses problems with handsets and reduces support costs for carriers. MVP enables carriers to centrally manage firmware and software updates for OMA-compliant devices, while mProve 4.0 updates solutions for over-the air reflashing of a phone’s memory, said the company.

“The release of MVP and mProve 4.0, along with the recent acquisition of SmartCare, mark the beginning of a new era for Bitfone and for the rapidly growing space of mobile device software management,” said Gene Wang, Bitfone’s chairman and chief executive officer.
