BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless users with Get-It-Now-enabled phones have new ways to stay in touch or show their school spirit.
America Online Inc. users can access their e-mail accounts on their Verizon Wireless handsets through a new service launched Wednesday. Mobile AOL Mail is available for an introductory price of $1 a month to Verizon users with certain Get It Now-enabled phones, including the Kyocera Slider SE47 and LG Electronics’ VX 4600 and VX 6000.
Also Wednesday, the carrier announced it has teamed with mobile content provider Summus to bring NCAA school logos to handsets. Logos from 75 universities are available through the service, which costs $1.50 for a one-time use or $5.50 for five uses.
The NCAA content was licensed with the help of 2Thumbz Entertainment, a mobile entertainment developer and marketer.
