OTTAWA-VeriSign Inc. has licensed Bridgewater Systems’ authentication, authorization and accounting and mediation capabilities, according to a strategic agreement between the companies.
VeriSign will use the technology in its Wireless Data Roaming Service, which enables data roaming for next-generation offerings. The transaction-based service handles key interoperability as well as data record mediation and clearing and settlement services.
Bridgewater’s AAA Service Controller provides authentication, authorization and account management for user access to CDMA, GPRS, 802.11, digital subscriber line and dial-up Internet networks. Its Revenue Collector and Formatter service collects and stores usage detail records and filters and formats and streams the session records to the appropriate billing and settlement systems.
