REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.-Wireless local area network aggregator iPass Inc. said it will launch monthly and annual flat-rate subscription plans for its enterprise customers beginning Dec. 1 covering the company’s U.S.-based hot-spot locations. The company noted that it currently provides roaming services to more than 7,400 hot spots in the United States, including T-Mobile USA Inc.’s more than 5,000 locations.
The flat-rate pricing model is dependent on the size and needs of a corporation, but is expected to be the equivalent of approximately four hours of use per month based on iPass’ currently available per-minute pricing model.
“This all-you-can-eat approach allows the IT department to reliably budget the cost of Wi-Fi hot-spot access across an entire organization or for a subset within it,” explained Jon Russo, vice president of marketing at iPass. “iPass expects this new optional pricing plan to further accelerate Wi-Fi usage.”<
