SCHAUMBURG, Ill.-Motorola Inc. said it has begun shipping its version of the 900 MHz Canopy wireless broadband radio for last connectivity to remote subscribers.
The radio, which has an integrated antenna and filter, can reach up to 40 miles in a point-to-multipoint, line-of-sight application and provide enhanced penetration for non-line-of-sight applications.
The company also unveiled its new software release, known as R6, for all Canopy 900 MHz modules for increased throughput and decreased latency.
“The software download is available for all 900 MHz radios already deployed and demonstrates the power of software defined radio as the upgrade can be done remotely,” said Motorola.
