HERNDON, Va.-Northrop Grumman Corp. said it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to complete the Puget Sound (Wash.) 911 computer-assisted dispatch system.
NGC’s contract is for the eastern Puget Sound region and is the second phase of the CAD system. NGC implemented the first phase in the western Puget Sound region in September 2003.
This second-phase contract will link the eastern region to the Navy Region Northwest’s Regional Dispatch Center at Naval Base Kitsap for a fully integrated CAD. Kitsap is in Silverdale, Wash.
The contract is for $4.4 million over two years with five one-year options. It calls for NGC to consolidate the video monitoring system, integration of the digital radio communications for emergency personnel, enhanced 911 caller information assistance, mapping, alarm monitoring, multi-site weather sensor, fire station, and mass alerting systems into the 911 CAD.
NGC’s contract partners include Verizon Communications Inc. and Motorola Inc.
