ESPOO, Finland-Turkcell, a GSM operator in Turkey, has begun offering its business customers commercial push-to-talk service using Nokia’s Push to Talk over Cellular equipment. Nokia said the deployment follows successful trials of the technology over recent months.
Nokia added that it has more than 30 operator trials ongoing and commercial contracts with 22 operators for its PoC solution.
“Our successful cooperation with Nokia coupled with its market-leading PoC solution made Nokia the obvious choice in enabling us to launch this attractive new service for our subscribers,” said Muzaffer Akpinar, chief executive officer of Turkcell.
Turkcell had more than 22.3 million subscribers as of Sept. 30.
