BOULDER, Colo.-Wireless telephone maker SpectraLink Corp. said it expects its fourth-quarter and annual results for 2004 to exceed its previous guidance.
For the fourth quarter of 2004, SpectraLink expects to report revenues of $27.5 million and earnings of about 20 cents per fully diluted share. This will result in annual revenues of approximately $90 million with corresponding full-year earnings of about 56 cents per fully diluted share.
The supplier attributed the revenue boost to two orders of about $1 million each from the retail sector. In addition, SpectraLink cited an increased order flow from its original equipment manufacturer partners and continuing growth in its traditional vertical markets.
Sales of the company’s NetLink Wireless Telephones accounted for 53 percent of product revenue, marking the first quarter that Wi-Fi telephone system sales exceeded sales of its Link Wireless Telephone Systems. Gross margins are expected to be about 63 percent, which is in the middle of the company’s guidance range.
The company’s preliminary outlook for 2005 is for 20-percent revenue growth. Operating income, as a percentage of revenue, is expected to be in the 18- to 20-percent range.
The company plans to provide additional year-end financial details Jan. 27.
