Internet search provider Ask Jeeves plans to launch a search service for wireless devices later this year, the company confirmed Tuesday.
A spokeswoman declined to give specifics of the planned service, but confirmed that Ask Jeeves will join fellow Internet search providers in the wireless space. Google launched a text message-based service in October, and Yahoo! followed with its own offering several weeks later.
Several smaller players have launched similar services, as well. The most recent mobile search offering was introduced last week by California-based search company Interchange Corp.
