CANNES, France-Comverse Technology Inc. announced two new operator deals as well as a series of product upgrades in conjunction with the 3GSM trade show.
First off, the multimedia software and systems vendor announced Greek mobile operator Q-Telecom purchased its Converged Real-Time Billing Solutions, Multimedia Messaging Service Center and its Mobile Data Gateway. The carrier will use the products to offer real-time billing capabilities for voice and data services, including multimedia and text messaging.
Separately, rival Greek operator Cosmote purchased Comverse’s Fun Dial platform, which will allow the carrier to offer ring-back calling tunes.
In its product upgrades, Comverse released new versions of its Mobile Data Gateway and Real-Time Billing products. The company also released new products to allow users to manage multiple calls through a variety of methods and to see a picture of a missed call from a video-phone caller. Finally, Comverse also announced it integrated its Visual Voicemail product with Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry offering.
