SAN ANTONIO-SBC Communications Inc. said it has signed a deal with the University of Arkansas to provide a wireless mesh network using Nortel Networks Ltd.’s solution.
With this network, students and faculty will receive secure wireless broadband access to educational and Internet resources anywhere on campus, according to the operator.
“We wanted a solution that would allow us to provide secure access to university resources in a wireless environment,” said Craig Brown, associate director of computing services at the university. “We succeeded in finding this with SBC companies.”
