BELLEVUE, Wash.-Wireless entertainment publisher Mobliss will distribute Guppy Games’ “Tank Wars” to major North Americans carriers this year, the companies said Thursday.
The turn-based strategic single and multiplayer game will be the first Guppy title available for both BREW and J2ME handsets in the United States. The game features five tank types and 15 weapons and allows players to send text messages inviting friends to play.
“We are very excited to be working with Mobliss to bring one of the first networked multiplayer titles to mobile gamers; we are hoping the ‘invite-a-friend’ feature will pull in many first-time gamers and will be a catalyst to growing the wireless gaming market,” said Alex Choe, Guppy’s chief executive officer and co-founder.
