AUSTIN, Texas-Axalto, which provides microprocessor smart cards, said its microelectronics module fabrication operation at its Advanced Card Center production facility in Texas has achieved full qualification for the company’s quality and productivity standards.
The company said all of its smart-card production technologies will now be integrated into a single production process. The smart-card modules contain the microprocessor, memory and other software and security features.
The company said the new microelectronics line is already producing modules for North American and South American customers. It plans to ramp up capacity to full production capability by mid-year.
