PARIS-More than 60 projects were submitted for Vodafone’s “Made-for-Mobile Screenings” event, which will showcase programming from companies that have produced video content specifically for mobile distribution.
The event will take place April 13 at the MIPTV featuring MILIA mobile content show in Cannes, France.
Twelve projects were pre-selected from the 60 to be judged by a panel of eight industry experts. Three “best of show” projects will be chosen in the categories of “best adaptation from existing medium,” “best original mobile content/format,” and “expert panel’s top choice.”
“The time for mobile TV has arrived,” said Graeme Ferguson, director of global content development at Vodafone Group Services Ltd. “The role of television producers will be key in providing real entertainment to mobile customers. New formats and new ideas are needed to meet customer expectations, and the program being launched at MIPTV will be a great opportunity to showcase the potential for Mobile TV.”
