PARIS-Medialive SA snared $4.2 million in Series A funding from Nextel Communications Inc. and Sophia Euro Lab, the French content protection provider announced Friday.
Medialive partners with broadband and wireless service providers to protect multimedia content using an open software suite. The 5-year-old company said it will use the capital to expand to new markets, including North America.
“Our investors are providing Medialive a strong financial and strategic support that will accelerate the development and deployment of our technology as well as the strategic opportunity of an early market launch in the USA,” said Daniel Lecomte, Medialive’s founder and chief scientific officer.
