BEIJING-China Mobile’s 220 million subscribers will be able to access content from MTV networks under an agreement announced Thursday.
Beginning May 1, subscribers of China’s largest wireless carrier can download music and news video clips as well as ringtones and ring-back tones. Terms of the agreement were not announced, but MTV parent Viacom will share subscription revenues. The operator also plans to advertise on MTV’s Chinese cable channel.
MTV also said it had extended its cable coverage to 10 million households in southern China.
