LAS VEGAS-Cisco Systems announced availability of its Wireless Location Appliance, which provides for simultaneous tracking of 802.11-enabled wireless clients from within a wireless local area network infrastructure.
Using radio-frequency fingerprinting capabilities, the product allows enterprises to track mobile devices, including wireless laptops, personal digital assistants and voice over LAN devices, throughout a Cisco WLAN network. Among the benefits to the product are the ability for enterprises to enhance capacity management and wireless LAN security by being able to track potential rogue devices, said Cisco.
Device locations are graphically displayed on floor plans within Cisco’s Wireless Control System.
