Tecnomen ends MMSC development, resells Jinny product

HELSINKI, Finland-Finnish messaging services provider Tecnomen Corp. will jettison its multimedia service center development business, opting instead to resell offerings from Irish developer Jinny Software Ltd.

The deal will create the fourth most widely deployed MMSC product, the companies said, and expands on a relationship under which Jinny sells its short messaging service center offering to Tecnomen customers. The two companies partnered on a number of carrier deals last year in Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Russia.

Tecnomen employs 350 staffers in 13 offices around the world. Jinny is a subsidiary of the Rome-based Acotel Group S.p.A., which has 210 employees.

“This deal is good for all mobile operators,” said Max Wilkie, Jinny’s chief executive officer. “Our dedicated (research and development operations) and local customer support teams around the world will back Tecnomen’s sales staff.”
