BASINGSTOKE, United Kingdom-Motorola Ventures announced an undisclosed strategic investment in Anam Mobile, a messaging infrastructure provider for short message service and multimedia messaging service (MMS) delivery platforms.
The investment arm of the world’s No. 2 handset provider cited Anam’s patented Smart Services Framework, which is designed to allow operators to launch new SMS and MMS services to subscribers. The 6-year-old company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and has offices worldwide.
“The messaging market is the most mature consumer-oriented mobile data services market, but has been the subject of little genuine service innovation,” said John O’Donahue, managing director of Motorola Ventures EMEA. “We believe that Anam has the potential to become a leading innovator in the mobile data services sector.”
