Andrew, EMS settle patent dispute

ORLAND PARK, Ill.-Andrew Corp. said it settled a patent dispute with EMS Technologies Inc. concerning its remote electrical tilt antenna technology.

The company has licensed the technology to EMS under a nonexclusive agreement as part of the settlement. Andrew also granted a limited license to EMS for manufacture and marketing of repeaters that use the technology in question.

In related news, Andrew said it has granted nonexclusive worldwide licenses for its RET technology to Amphenol Corp. and Alan Dick & Co.

RET technology allows carriers to remotely adjust the beam pattern of an antenna system and control its signal coverage footprint, said Andrew.
