Shentel reports rising wireless financials

EDINBURG, Va.-Sprint PCS affiliate Shenandoah Telecommunications Co., which offers various telecom services in the Mid-Atlantic and southeastern United States, posted increasing revenues and wireless subscribers.

The carrier’s Sprint retail wireless customer count for the second quarter increased by 5,200 to 112,100 customers. The carrier’s wholesale users increased by 1,200 to 32,700. Shenandoah posted wireless revenues of $23 million, up $3.2 million compared with the same quarter last year. The carrier’s net income also increased to $1.1 million in the second quarter. Companywide, Shenandoah had revenues of $35.5 million and a net income of $2.5 million.
