SCHAUMBURG, Ill.-Motorola Inc. hired Dr. John D. Waclawsky as its software architect to drive coherent software development across the company’s product lines.

His breadth and depth of experience in leveraging innovative technologies to develop customer-focused solutions will be a valuable asset to Motorola.”
Waclawsky most recently served as technical leader for the Mobile Wireless Group at Cisco Systems Inc. with responsibility for defining mobile wireless architecture and supporting the convergence of wireless networks and the Internet. Prior to joining Cisco, Waclawsky spent more than 20 years at IBM corp. in a number of technical and management leadership positions.
He is the author of more than 30 articles and papers and holds more than 36 U.S. patents, 12 of which are pending. Waclawsky is currently a member of the Open Mobile Alliance board and editor of the WiMAX Network Working Group.
