LONDON-LogicaCMG plc said it plans to take part in a project of the Galileo Joint Undertaking, which is focused on bringing satellite navigation technologies into mass-market location-based services.
The project, “Application of Galileo In the LBS Environment,” otherwise known as AGILE, aims to foster the adoption of global navigation satellite services in mass market LBS. The project emphasizes the use of European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) and Galileo, which is the European equivalent of the global positioning system.
The project’s funding totals about $7.3 million.
