LogicaCMG partners with CPS for Galileo

CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom-LogicaCMG plc will partner with Cambridge Positioning Systems Ltd. for mobile location technology for the Galileo satellite program. LogicaCMG announced its participation in the Galileo project last month.

CPS will offer its network-based Matrix location technology for the effort, dubbed “Application of Galileo in the LBS Environment,” or AGILE. The project is designed to foster widespread adoption of Global Navigation Satellite Services for both businesses and consumers across Europe.

“Matrix solves two critical issues facing satellite technology-speed of location fix and indoor/dense urban coverage-and our development roadmap is closely aligned with the needs of the satellite technology community,” said Chris Wade, CPS’ chief executive officer.
