BELLEVUE, Wash.-Vidiator Technology Inc. today announced it will acquire the Platform division of Seoul-based Nextreaming Corp., a move the company said would add extra features and functions to its encoding, transcoding and streaming technologies for mobile phones. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Korea is the most advanced wireless marketplace in the world, and I see a great value in combining the technologies, innovation and invention,” said Connie Wong, Vidiator’s chief executive officer. “This initiative will benefit not only our customers, but also our partners, all of whom have been asking us to offer entry and enterprise-grade products.”
Specifically, Vidiator said the acquisition would add Unix- and Linux-based platforms to its line of products and would allow it to support Quicktime and Real formats.
