NEW YORK-MTV Networks International and Motorola Inc. launched a series of eight comedy shorts created exclusively for mobile phones.
“Head and Body,” which depicts a character with a detached head, are being disseminated through MTV’s wireless distribution channels and through Motorola’s Web site in markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Comedy Central, MTV’s sister company under Viacom Inc., will distribute the offering for U.S. users.
“The creation of this first-of-its-kind series has enabled us to pioneer unique ways of storytelling and connecting with young people as they turn to the handset as an everyday platform for entertainment,” said Gideon Bierer, senior vice president of digital media for MTV Networks International.
