Nokia announces Forum Nokia PRO awards

ESPOO, Finland-Nokia Corp. announced the winners of its annual Forum Nokia PRO Awards, which recognize accomplishments in the development of content and applications during 2005.

Quickoffice Inc. won the Developer of the Year award for its Quickoffice Premier S60 mobile office suite, which supports Microsoft Corp. Office documents on S60 devices. Other U.S. winners include Digital Chocolate, which won the Series 40 Games Entertainment category for its WordKing Poker game; Seven, which won the Series 60 Enterprise Application category for its Always-On Mail 5.0 product; and Vidiator Technology won the ARPU award for its VeeStream product.

In the Series 80 Enterprise Application category, Norway’s Birdstep Technology won for its Birdstep SmartRoaming Client for Symbian OS, which provides seamless roaming support for WLAN-enabled smart phones. Hong Kong’s Green Tomato was recognized as the top developer for a company with fewer than 30 employees in the Rising Star category. And finally, China’s M-Gen Mobile Technology Ltd. took home top honors in the Series 40 Games-Entertainment category for its three-dimensional location-based treasure hunting game called Quest for Seven Swords/3G Fairy Quest.

More than 160 PRO member companies participated. The contest was judged by mobile industry analysts and journalists, including RCR Wireless News’ online editor Mike Dano and reporter Colin Gibbs. Forum Nokia is the vendor’s global developer program.
