CHARLOTTE, N.C.-SunCom Wireless Holdings Inc. said it broadened a two-year licensing agreement with Seattle-based Qpass. The two companies agreed to add Qpass’ Content Delivery Platform and Content Management Services to SunCom’s Downloadables service, which allows users to download content to personalize their phones.
Qpass is a mobile commerce solutions company that sells technology for content downloading and billing. Essentially, Qpass’ offerings allow mobile operators and content providers to outsource the management of the digital content stores.
“We are excited to expand our long-standing partnership with Qpass to include their content delivery and merchandising capabilities,” said Tony Perlak, executive director of pricing and products for SunCom. “Qpass provides a complete end-to-end infrastructure that helps us manage the entire commerce process for the SunCom Downloadables service, which we’re confident our subscribers will enjoy.”
SunCom currently serves more than 900,000 wireless subscribers in the Southeast and Puerto Rico.
