Ki-Bi, Carphone Warehouse planning for Valentine’s Day

TEL AVIV, Israel-Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies Ltd. announced a deal to deliver Valentine’s Day-themed mobile content through U.K. wireless retailer Carphone Warehouse.

Carphone Warehouse said it plans to offer two specially created Ki-Bi card types: one that allows users to send anonymous text messages to other cell phones, and another that can include customized greetings.

To access content from the cards, users access content by calling Ki-Bi’s service number and pressing a button on the card to “play” them into the phone. A tone triggers the download of content to the phone form Ki-Bi’s server.

“These cards will give our customers a new and fun way of using their mobile as part of Valentine’s Day,” said Jonathan Hook, strategic development director of Carphone Warehouse. “They can either send the object of their affection an anonymous chat-up SMS or else they can give their Valentine a customized Ki-Bi card as a gift.”
