LAS VEGAS-Amp’d Mobile unleashed an far-reaching list of entertainment content from major television and cable networks that it plans to offer its subscribers.
The content includes:
- ABC’s “Alias,” “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives,” including a 3D mobile game for “Alias;”
- NBC content including “NBC News” excerpts, clips from “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Jerry Spring Uncensored,” “Blind Date Uncensored” and “Access Hollywood;”
- “Sealab 2021,” “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” and “Harvey Birdman” from Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim;
- And previews, interviews and clips from CBS shows such as “CSI:NY,” “Numb3ers” and the “Late Show with David Letterman.”
Amp’d also will offer behind-the-scenes footage, fashion and biographies of Ford models, content from Comedy Central and E! Entertainment, coverage of live events such as Hollywood awards shows and content from Playboy, MTV, VH1 , UPN, The WB, plus Kung Fu classics, anime and traditional comic book content.
Each video program will include its own channel featuring bloopers, extended and uncensored footage, cast interviews and select previews of new shows. The company noted that rather than take a synopsis approach to video, Amp’d is taking the “DVD extra” road.
Amp’d also promised that later this quarter, customers would be able to view entire episodes of television shows and then load them to Amp’d phones from their computers. Once the episodes are side-loaded to the handsets, subscribers will be able to access the extra content related to the episode.
