TAMPA, Fla.-Syniverse Technologies Inc., which provides technology and clearing services to wireless companies, said it has renewed its contract with regional wireless operator SunCom Wireless Holdings Inc.
Syniverse said the deal calls for it to continue to supply the carrier with services designed to simplify billing data exchanges with roaming partners and enable wireless local number portability.
According to Syniverse, the company provides its services to over 300 carriers worldwide, including the 10 largest wireless operators in the United States.
The company announced a change of leadership this week as its president and chief executive officer, Ed Evans, resigned his post as president. Tony Holcombe, who has served on the company’s board of directors since March 2003, will take over as president. Evans will continue to serve as chairman of the board.
Syniverse also recently renewed its contract with Alltel Corp. and won a new deal to provide services for Vodafone Group plc.
“We have made significant investment in our GSM clearing platform, which has been recognized by SunCom as well as many other operators within our growing GSM customer base,” said Evans.
