ATLANTA, Ga.-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. said it completed network enhancements in Connecticut and Mississippi.
In Connecticut, the carrier completed $45 million of work last year, including integrating its network with that of the former AT&T Wireless Services Inc. The operator incorporated 292 cell sites from the former AWS and added 30 new sites near several malls and in areas including Hartford, Litchfield and New Haven counties.
Cingular said it plans to spend another $25 million on improving its network in Connecticut this year, with nearly 65 new sites planned.
In Mississippi, Cingular invested $85 million in integrating and expanding its network last year, with most of the 40-odd new cell antennas going up near Hattiesburg and in the Gulfport/Biloxi areas. The entire Mississippi network integration is expected to be finished in 2006.
