NEW YORK—Frazzled, on-the-go parents can now entertain their kids with Thomas & Friends stories on their Sprint Nextel Corp. mobile phones.
Vocel and Random House Children’s Books teamed up to bring the adventures of Thomas the Tank Engine to mobile phones. Thomas & Friends, developed by HIT Entertainment, is a popular children’s book and TV series that teaches character-building lessons through the mishaps and adventures of Thomas and his engine friends.
The companies said they built educational features into the application as well, including highlighting each spoken word so children can read along to a soundtrack.
The Thomas & Friends download is priced at $4.
