Tira adds $13 million in VC funding

SAN FRANCISCO—Tira Wireless, which provides mobile content deployment technology, added $13 million to its coffers as part of its third round of funding.

Lehman Ventures led the investment. Existing investors Brightspark Ventures, Flagship Ventures and Export Development Canada also participated. Tim Banahan, managing director of Lehman Ventures, joined Tira’s board of directors as part of the funding.

The company said it plans to use the funds to add music and video content to its Jump platform and to expand its global support and distribution. Tira’s Jump platform supports application development including planning, adaptation, optimization, localization, quality assurance, certification and carrier and portal packaging, said the company.

Tira’s customers include Disney Mobile Studios, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures Mobile, THQ Wireless, T-Mobile, and Telus Mobility.
