SANTA MONICA, Calif.—Content provider Giant Mobile filed a $23 million lawsuit against Hustler publisher LFP Inc., claiming the company failed to honor a 3-year-old licensing deal.
Giant claims that LFP reneged on the 2003 agreement “in order to cut a better deal with another company.” LFP came to terms with a new licensee without seeking to terminate the Giant agreement, according to the lawsuit, which was filed with a private arbitration organization.
In a public statement, Giant singled out LFP executive Michael Klein, charging that Klein “went out of his way to disrupt Giant’s existing relationship with LFP, cut Giant out of the marketplace and deny it any credit for helping to establish the Hustler Mobile brand.”
Other LFP properties include Barely Legal, Taboo and Asian Fever.
