FaithMobile to make cell phones a ‘portable sanctuary’

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif.-FaithMobile will team with Crisp Wireless to deliver faith-based content to wireless users beginning next month.

A subsidiary of Good News Holdings, FaithMobile said it will offer a subscription-based service hawking ringtones, images and video clips from content providers including Promise Keepers, Watchword Bible and New Living Translation. The company also plans to launch a branded portal for wireless teens, FaithXL, this fall.

“The whole idea of putting this type of content on the mobile phone is to make that device a portable sanctuary,” said Martha Cotton, director of FaithMobile. “We are looking to provide industry-first experiences for the faith community as well.”
